A deposit equal to the first night’s stay, plus tax, is required at the time of booking.

 

If your plans change, cancellations made at least 7 days before your arrival date will receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations made less than 7 days before arrival will result in the loss of the deposit.

Bar Harbor Motel gift cards are available in both preset and custom amounts, making them a great option for gifts or future travel.

 

Gift cards cannot be used for deposits. All reservations require a credit card at the time of booking to secure your stay.

What is there to do near the Bar Harbor Motel?

Bar Harbor Motel is conveniently located near many of the area’s most popular attractions. Downtown Bar Harbor is about a mile away, offering shops, restaurants, and waterfront activities, and is easily accessible by car, bike, or the Island Explorer shuttle (runs seasonally).

 

Acadia National Park is also just minutes away, with access to scenic drives, hiking trails, and outdoor activities throughout Mount Desert Island. The motel also offers direct access to the park via the Bar Harbor Motel–Acadia Connector Trail, located at the back of the property, which leads to the historic carriage roads.

Yes. The Island Explorer shuttle stops directly in front of Bar Harbor Motel on its Eden Street route from mid-June through mid-October, providing easy access to downtown Bar Harbor without driving.

 

From downtown, you can connect to additional routes that travel throughout Mount Desert Island and into Acadia National Park. Buses are equipped with bike racks, making it easy to bring your gear along for the ride.

Acadia National Park passes can be purchased online in advance or at park entrance stations, including the Hulls Cove Visitor Center.

Bar Harbor Motel is located about one mile from downtown Bar Harbor. Many guests choose to drive, bike, or take the Island Explorer shuttle, which stops directly in front of the property from mid-June through mid-October.

 

The shuttle provides easy access to downtown without needing to park, and from there you can connect to additional routes that travel throughout Mount Desert Island and into Acadia National Park.

Bar Harbor Motel does not offer bike or kayak rentals on-site. However, there are several local outfitters in Bar Harbor, and the team is happy to recommend options during your stay.

 

To help you make the most of your time in Acadia National Park, the Bar Harbor Motel does offer a selection of complimentary gear available to borrow from the front desk, including items like hiking poles, coolers, beach chairs, headlamps, and binoculars. Guests traveling with their own bikes can also take advantage of secure on-site storage in a locked shed.

The Bar Harbor Motel features an outdoor heated pool (there is no hot tub), and is open Memorial Day week and closes October 1st.

 

The pool area includes seating and is fully fenced and gated for added safety, making it a great place to relax after a day exploring Acadia National Park. Please note that the pool is not monitored by a lifeguard.
